Creamy Caramel Rolls with fresh coffee what can be better.
This recipe makes 24.
1/3 cup softened butter
2/3 cup packed brown sugar
3 tablespoons light corn syrup
1 teaspoon cinnamon
1/4 cup finely chopped pecans
Mix all of the filling ingredients together until fully combined. Set aside until needed.
1 cup warm (not hot) milk
1 teaspoon active dry yeast
1/3 cup sugar
3 3/4 cups bread flour
3/4 teaspoon salt
2 tablespoons room temperature butter
1 1/2 teaspoon grated orange zest
Preheat your oven to 350F.
Lightly grease a 13 X 9 X 2 inch baking pan.
In a small mixing bowl combine together the yeast, milk, eggs and sugar in a medium bowl until fully combined then set aside to rest for 5 minutes.
In a large mixing bowl sift together the flour, and the salt. Add the grated orange rind and stir to combine.
Mix in milk mixture and the room temperature butter into the flour mixture. Continue mixing until it forms a smooth dough and pulls away from the sides of the bowl.
Once fully mixed turn the dough out onto a lightly floured surface and knead the dough for about 8 minutes. The dough should be smooth and elastic.
Place the dough into a lightly oiled bowl and turn to coat in oil. Place a warm damp clean dish cloth over it and place the bowl in a warm draft free place to rise. When the dough is double in size (about 30 minutes) it is ready.
Turn the dough out onto a lightly floured surface and cut the dough into two equal pieces. Roll each piece of dough into a 12 inch square.
Spread the prepared filling starting at the end closest to you to the edges until you are within the last 1/2 an inch of dough. Do not put filling on the last 1/2 inch of dough this will help seal the roll. Roll up the squares like a jelly roll. Cut the dough rolls into 1 inch slices. Place the slices into the prepared baking pan.
Place a warm damp clean dish cloth over the pan and place it in a warm draft free place to rise. When the dough is double in size (about 30 minutes) it is ready.
Pour the whipping cream over the raised dough rolls.
Once the Creamy Caramel Rolls are ready place them in the oven and bake for 30 to 35 minutes or until golden brown.
Remove from the oven and allow them to stay in the baking pan for 5 minutes on a cooling rack.
Remove them from the baking pan by inverting onto a serving tray.
